“Walk From Obesity” for Community Hospital was a HUGE success! They raised $1300 more than their goal – had a tremendous vendor fair. As Nick Giaconia from Celebrate Vitamins (a national sponsor) indicated below:

Upcoming events and projects:

1. Monument Marathon – facilitating 5000 goodie bags – please let us know if you would like to volunteer to help fill the bags. We do give “volunteer” hours for high school students.

2. Walter Blackburn Scholarship Fashion Show – June 6th – very exciting show – filled with local celebrities. We will raise money to help educate students.

3. Kids Racing for Kids – we voted our newly designed Board of Directors and Officers to make this a 501C3. We also voted to give a percentage of net proceeds to Best Buddies Indiana.

4. “Where’s Sporty” – Follow Sporty from Sport Clips at Willow Creek, Melford Place and Avon on Facebook. See where the next Sporty sighting will be!

Week of September 20th – 2009

MEG & Associates is very proud to announce that Deborah Miles and Sheri Vance will be joining the team. Deborah has extensive event planning background working with the Fisher’s Freedom Festival for many years. She brings so much wisdom and energy to the table – I am excited to have her enhance your events.

Sheri is a computer analyst. She enjoys working with the computer and creating computer programs. This is a gift to MEG & Associates. She will handle all the administrative and organizational aspect of the company. Her husband Greg Vance is helping “coach” MEG & Associates with their business development.

Brad Osborne – although he is one of Indianapolis’s top Realtors, he is always in the shadows, helping with all events – from computer work to set-up/tear-down. You will always see and find Brad at the events, providing insight and help in any areas needed.

We are very excited about the success of Prevent Blindness Indiana’s Most Beautiful Eyes Contest. We have just under 700 applicants from across Indiana. We have voters across United States and Canada. We are very energized by the successful promotions of this event. The PSA that Mike Jansen produced with Ed Carpenter (IRL), Justin Snow (Colts) and Alpha Blackburn (Civic Leader) has been seen across Indiana on all network stations and cable! Cathy Kightlinger of the Indianapolis Star and News has graciously covered the event. Keep on voting www.MostBeautifulEyes.org.

“Walk From Obesity” hosted by Community Bariatric Center is right around the corner – Oct 4th from 2:00-5:00 at Lawrence North High School. We are proud to announce that Community is partnering with St. Vincent’s , Clarian and St. Francis hospitals. Stacia Matthew of WRTV 6 is our MC for the day! We have many health related vendors to provide encouragement and education for the participants. Runner’s Forum has donated 2 $99 gift certificates for Addias shoes and Sports of All Sorts have donated 2 camp certificates to encourage the participants to get out and exercise! Planning for June….Walter Blackburn Scholarship Fashion Show is June 6th – mark you calendar today for a fun and festive evening for everyone! Our goal – raise money to send kids to college! We have several celebrities on the schedule to model wonderful clothes! Look forward to seeing you there!

After a wonderful summer of Triathlons, Kids Racing for Kids will be created into a 501 C3 – non profit entity thanks to the efforts of Leeuws, Oberlies and Campbell PC. We are grateful and very excited to see the event expand for the benefit of the children of our community. We may possibly expand to Muncie and southside of Indy next season. Week of September 6th

MEG & Associates are moving forward very quickly. On Labor Day, MEG & Associates are hosting the final of Kids Racing for Kids Series Triathlon at Jordan YMCA at 7:00 am. It has been a very rewarding and exciting summer, hosting 4 kids triathlons across Indianapolis. We will crown of series champions on Monday!

We have 1 more of 10 Tuxedo Brothers events – on Oct 30th downtown. This has been such a fun and innovative summer, creating Vendor Villages for each of the Tuxedo Brothers events. We have seen so much excitement and energy. We SOLD out almost every event. We introduced a wide variety of partners – from Runner’s Forum to Leeuw, Oberlies and Campbell law firm. The back of t-shirts and Tuxedo Brother’s web site were full of new partners. The participants LOVED the American Dairy Winners Milk and Chocolate Milk – the new rehab drink for athletes. American Dairy’s Buttercup, Chick-fil-A Cow and Sport Clips Sporty continuously cheered on participants at every event!

As we speak, Most Beautiful Eyes Contest hosted by Prevent Blindness Indiana is on internet. We have voters from Indianapolis – Canada and numerous other states! We have close to 200 contestants including many Indianapolis celebrities. SO many GREAT prizes – digital camera donated by Wal-Mart, Pacer basketball signed by all the players, Fever basketball signed by all the players, Colts football signed by Justin Snow and oodles of museum memberships, trips and Holiday treats! VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!! It ends on Sept 30th!

We are gearing up for the national/Indiana’s “Walk From Obesity” on Oct 4th from 2:00 -5:00 at Lawrence North High School. This event is locally sponsored by Community Hospital Bariatrics plus St. Vincent’s Bariatrics, Clarian Bariatrics and St, Francis Bariatric. Obesity is a disease that affects every family in some capacity! Come and join the MC Stacia Matthews and support this wonderful case!

Lawrence Swim Team – we are hosting tryouts for all levels of swimmers. Please come to Lawrence North High School – September 14th – 6:00 pm, September 16th – 6:00 pm and September 19th – 6:00 pm. All levels and all interests!

Chick-fil-A at the Crossing and Castleton – It has been such a great opportunity to service so many school systems. We are building wonderful partnerships with Lawrence Township, Heritage Christian, Horizon Christian, Cathedral, Chatard, Washington Township, Warren Township! We look forward to the upcoming Lawrence Community Day and Chili Cook off sponsored by Burd Ford! Come join us – September 19th at Lawrence Park. Don’t forget Family Nights – Every Wednesday Night from 5:30-7:30 at Chick-fil-A at the Crossing!

Sport Clips!!! Willow Lake (across from Brebeuf High School) For every hair cut for Brebeuf and North Central “Cut-a-thon” – Sport Clips will donate $5.00 to your athletic Department through September 30th! See your Athletic Director for a coupon! Visit Avon and Melford Place (Michigan and 106th).
